My mom is the most caring and loving person ever and she faces hard situations better than anyone.

She took care of my dad for 3 years while he had a terminal illness. Even though he was sometimes horrible to her she took it all in stride and still was her cheery self.

The best thing I love about my mom is, for better or worse, she allowed me to be me; she didn't try to change me or mold me to what she thought I should be.

The thing I love the most about my Mum is the ability to acknowledge and admit that she was a bad Mum when I was a child and her actions have been the complete opposite ever since we have been able to overcome this huge hurdle and create an amazing and beauiful relationship as adults.

I love that my mom and I have a relationship after many many years of not having one. She done so much work on herself and really has become an awesome and even MORE loving person.

She also gave my siblings in my 20s so I don't ever feel the "you need to get married and have babies" feelings. :)

Also great genes. Sure I'm still getting carded at R movies at 25 but it means at 50 I'll look amazing

My mom always put my sister and I before her own needs. She would always buy us clothes and skimp on buying new things for herself. She was the bread winner in the family and yet still made time for us when she got home late from work. She's selfless and I owe a lot to her. This is why I would love to give her something to make her feel special.

Wow - everyone went deep and sweet. I was just going to say "I love that I got my young looks from my Mom. Yay for looking 5-10 years younger than I am (and same for her)."

Also, she's always been there for me, and when I've been in the hospital, slept on the crappy cot and everything (ok, I was 9).

4 kids Charles, try 11! My Dad died when I was young and my Mom raised 11 kids by herself. My mom's hard work in unfounded and I can never be greatful enough to her for what she has give me.

There are a couple of traditions we have in my family. One of which is that my mother has been bringing me breakfast in bed (which has now switched to coffee and a bagel) for the past 23 years. I thought once i went away to college this would stop, but it didn't. She would drive the hour to my dorm room and present me with my present and whatever breakfast thing i was into that year. Once i got married i thought for sure she would give up. But no, after making sure it was still ok with my husband she drives the hour and a half to my apartment every year and brings my present and coffee before work.

My mother is a lot of things but being a mommy mom has never been her strong suite. That is why this behavior has so baffled me over the years. For the most part i have taken it for granted and become expectant of her head popping in my bedroom door with that annoying good morning song. Yet, there is something comfortable in tradition and knowing that some things will not change for as long as we are at least an hours drive away.

I vote best Mom award goes to my wife, cuz since we had our son, she does anal "so she never has to go through child birth again"-- At least, that's how she puts it. What a lady.

My wife is a great mom because she always finds fun games that teach my son new things. He's 18 months, has a vocabulary of over 90 words, uses sign language, can count to 5 and almost knows all his primary colors. It is all because of how great a Mom my wife has always been.

my mom and I live on opposite sides of the country. Even though she's a little clumsy with technology, she has made efforts to learn all about Facebook, Twitter, text messaging, etc. so we have many ways to keep in touch. It's really cute to see how excited she gets whenever she learns a new "internet-thingy," as she calls them.

I live thousands of miles from my mom, but she makes such a great effort to keep in touch. I love that about her! She makes that extra effort!
